Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri, President of IMSIU, the University inaugurated today, Sunday (April 5, 2026), the Manuscripts and Rare Books Exhibition, titled “A Journey Through Manuscripts." The exhibition is organized by the General Administration of Library Affairs as part of the Arabic Manuscript Day activities and is held in the lobby of Prince Sultan Library for Science and Knowledge.

     The inauguration was attended by the University Vice President, Prof. Mansour A. Al-Haidari; Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Naif M. Al-Otaibi; Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah A. Al-Asmari; General Supervisor of the General Administration of Library Affairs, Dr. Areej S. Al-Askar; along with a number of deans of colleges and supporting deanships, and directors of centers at the University.

     During the inauguration, H.E. the President toured the exhibition, which featured curated stations showcasing scholars' manuscripts, rare handwritten works, and Qur'anic manuscripts, in addition to distinguished manuscript donations received by the University from several royal figures and scholars.

     The exhibition also included descriptive catalogs, as well as books whose publication was commissioned by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman—may Allah have mercy on him—alongside endowments and ownership collections of the Royal Family.

     In addition, the exhibition presented a number of historical devices and tools that were used in the past for displaying and reading manuscripts.

     His Excellency concluded the tour by praising the efforts of the administration in preserving this rare cultural and historical heritage, noting that the exhibition provides an opportunity for male and female students to learn about the Kingdom's civilizations and its historical and scientific foundations across the ages.​​
