IMSIU, represented by the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, Monday, July 20, 2026, with the National Development Fund (NDF) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of finance, economics, and research. The agreement also aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and to develop joint programs and initiatives that support national development priorities and advance the strategic objectives of both parties.

     The MoU was signed on behalf of the University by His Excellency Prof. Naif M. Al-Otaibi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, while the National Development Fund was represented by Mr. Thamer S. Al-Jard, Deputy Governor for Development, Economic Research, and Policy Support.

     The memorandum seeks to strengthen institutional collaboration between the two organizations by establishing an effective partnership in consulting services and support for projects of mutual interest. It also provides a framework for exchanging knowledge in finance, economics, and research methodologies, as well as developing joint research programs focused on issues of national priority, thereby supporting scientific research and enhancing collaboration between the academic and development sectors.

     The agreement also includes cooperation in organizing workshops and scientific forums to exchange expertise and best practices in financial, economic, and research fields. In addition, the two parties will explore the establishment of a joint research program centered on national development priorities and organize educational and awareness programs for University students—particularly those majoring in finance and economics—to deepen their understanding of the National Development Fund's mission, role, and contribution to supporting economic development.

     Furthermore, the memorandum provides opportunities for cooperative education and practical training for University students in line with the Fund's needs, helping prepare highly qualified national talent equipped with the practical skills and expertise required by the labor market.

     This memorandum reflects the University's ongoing commitment to strengthening its strategic partnerships with national institutions and promoting greater integration between academic and development organizations, thereby advancing scientific research and preparing highly qualified national professionals.
