 IMSIU Launches the “Ifad” Electronic Platform to Facilitate Faculty and Staff Secondment Procedures.

​​     H.E. the President of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri, launched today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the “Ifad” electronic platform, which aims to organize and facilitate the procedures for seconding university staff to work at overseas institutes. This initiative aligns with the university’s direction toward developing its electronic services system and enhancing administrative efficiency in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

     The launch ceremony was held in his office in the presence of several university leaders. His Excellency expressed his appreciation to the platform’s working teams and commended the efforts of the General Administration for Overseas Institutes Affairs and the Deanship of Information Technology, which resulted in this institutional achievement. He stated during the launch: “The launch of the ‘Ifad’ platform supports the university’s academic and administrative journey by providing an integrated digital service that helps accelerate secondment procedures, unify standards, and ensure transparency in tracking applications, positively reflecting on institutional performance quality and improving beneficiary experience.”


     The platform was developed through an initiative by the General Administration for Overseas Institutes Affairs, in cooperation with the Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning. It was designed according to modern technical standards that emphasize ease of use, process automation, and adherence to the highest standards of information security and digital service quality.


     Dr. Adel A Al-Matrudi, Supervisor General of the General Administration for Overseas Institutes Affairs, explained that the launch of the “Ifad” platform represents a qualitative leap in organizing secondment procedures and reflects the university’s commitment to developing its services and enhancing institutional performance.


     Dr. Al-Matrudi added that the platform is the result of collaborative work with the Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning and was designed in accordance with best technical practices, contributing to faster procedures, unified standards, and improved beneficiary experience. He affirmed that the “Ifad” platform is one of the initiatives supporting digital transformation and contributes to advancing the university’s academic and administrative mission.


     The launch ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the University, Prof. Mansour A Al-Haidari; the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah A Al-Asmari; the Dean of Information Technology, Dr. Sultan S Al-Qahtani; the Supervisor General of Human Resources, Prof. Khalid A Al-Basir; and the Supervisor General of the Legal Affairs Department, Prof. Abdulhamid Al-Majli.
