 IMSIU Holds Ceremony to Approve the First Cohort of Program Accreditation under the Program Accreditation Project

       Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the President of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Prof. Ahmed S Alaameri , and with the participation of a number of university leaders, representatives of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, and members of the university's academic and administrative staff, the university—represented by the Deanship of Development and Quality—held, on the evening of Tuesday, 30 December 2025, a ceremony to approve the first cohort of accredited academic programs as part of the Program Accreditation Project. The event took place in the Grand Hall of the Conference Building at King Abdullah City for Female Students.



       The ceremony opened with the Saudi national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur'an. A visual presentation was then delivered, highlighting the university's journey toward program accreditation and the qualitative achievements realized in developing and accrediting academic programs by national and international bodies.



       The event included a speech by the Dean of Development and Quality, Dr. Kholoud J Sandouqa, who affirmed that the Program Accreditation Project was launched in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and in step with its directions. She noted that the accreditation journey faced a number of challenges; however, the concerted efforts of the deanships, colleges, and administrative units contributed to overcoming these challenges and achieving the accreditation goals successfully and in record time.



       She explained that accreditation represents a comprehensive institutional impact, encompassing the enhancement of academic program quality, the development of course specifications, the improvement of teaching and assessment methods, and the strengthening of a culture of quality and continuous improvement, thereby supporting academic and institutional excellence.



       In addition, the Vice President for Institutional Development and Community Responsibility, Dr. Kholoud F Al-Tamimi, delivered a speech in which she stated that the university has made quality and academic accreditation a cornerstone of its strategic plan, which has contributed to raising the proportion of accredited academic programs to nearly 80% of the university's total programs.



     Dr. Al-Tamimi pointed out that this achievement is the result of cumulative institutional efforts that have contributed to developing academic programs, enhancing their alignment with labor market requirements, and improving the readiness of students and graduates, in addition to strengthening the university's advanced presence in several national and international rankings and enhancing its societal and developmental impact.



     The ceremony also featured a speech by the President of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, Dr. Walid M Al-Saleh, in which he affirmed the Commission's support for the university's efforts to develop the program accreditation system and enhance the quality of education and training, in line with national development objectives and Saudi Vision 2030.



     In the closing remarks, His Excellency the President of the University emphasized that the university's qualitative efforts contribute to strengthening the credibility of academic programs and reinforcing society's trust in the higher education system. He noted that the approval of the first cohort of academic programs constitutes a significant achievement reflecting the maturity of institutional work and marks the beginning of renewed responsibility to continue academic and administrative development and to achieve the highest standards of excellence and quality.



     The ceremony concluded with the signing of a number of program accreditation contracts with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, in addition to honoring the participating entities and teams in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the Program Accreditation Project.
