H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri, President of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), received this morning, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Dahi, during an official visit aimed at strengthening joint academic and educational cooperation and exploring opportunities to expand partnership between the University and Mauritanian universities.
At the outset of the meeting, the Mauritanian Ambassador expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the distinguished academic and professional caliber of Mauritanian graduates from Saudi universities and affirmed his country’s commitment to further strengthening educational ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expanding academic collaboration.
For his part, H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri welcomed the Ambassador and underscored the deep fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, as well as the University’s commitment to supporting Mauritanian students. He noted that the number of Mauritanian students currently enrolled at the University stands at (34) students. He also affirmed the University’s readiness to receive Mauritanian students wishing to enroll through the “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform, supervised by the Ministry of Education. He further highlighted that Saudi universities rank among the top 200 universities globally, possess advanced research centers, and provide distinguished support services for international students in general.
This visit comes within the framework of enhancing the University’s international cooperation and building effective partnerships with Mauritanian universities, in addition to opening broader prospects for Mauritanian student admissions, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific and knowledge exchange.
