 ‏**Under the Patronage of the Governor of Riyadh** ‏Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University inaugurates the fourth Career Week


Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, His Excellency the President of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Prof. Ahmed S. Al-Ameri, inaugurated the fourth Career Week for students on Monday, May 20the, 2024, in the main hall of the university city. The event lasts four days, in cooperation with the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and with the participation of several private sector entities, and in the presence of university vice-presidents, deans of colleges, supporting deanships, and several university staff.

 

‏His Excellency Prof. Ahmed S.Al-Amri, in a statement during the opening of the exhibition and accompanying activities, emphasized that the university is honored by the kind patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, for Career Week, which is a continuation of His Royal Highness's generous support for the university to fulfill its national duties. This confirms the care and attention given to the university's students to build their future and take their pioneering role in the continuous development and modernization journey of our beloved country. On behalf of the university staff and students, he expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness for this kind patronage.

 

‏He pointed out that, inspired by this great care and to meet the aspirations of the leadership - may Allah preserve them - and the developmental goals of our nation according to Vision 2030 and its ambitious programs, and in line with the university's established national role and commitment to its social and professional responsibilities towards its graduates, Career Week is organized annually to enhance the culture of professional work, understand its requirements and skills, and keep abreast of the labor market developments and opportunities. His Excellency added that Career Week is an opportunity to provide professional support and career guidance for graduates, allowing them to foresee and create their future with distinction. It also aims to achieve direct communication between graduates and employers, building bridges of interaction between them and recruitment agencies.

 

‏His Excellency mentioned that the university, based on its vision and mission, and according to its strategic plan 2021-2025, and in its endeavor to achieve its desired goals, has adopted a scientific and practical methodology focused on building youth, which represents the future of the nation. He stated: "The university seeks to empower its graduates with future skills, enhance their abilities, enrich their experiences, and motivate them towards creativity and innovation according to the highest standards of quality and excellence, aligning with the requirements of the knowledge economy, future labor market changes, and meeting national and community needs, and aligning with the accelerated developmental movement and the significant developmental renaissance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across various fields."

 

‏His Excellency the President of the University stressed that achieving national goals has made its primary objectives competitive educational outputs that are knowledgeable and skilled, meeting the needs of the labor market.

 

‏Prof. Al-Ameri explained that the activities of Career Week come as one of the initiatives to achieve this goal and support what graduates possess in terms of unlimited ambitions and great capabilities for giving and innovation by creating a suitable environment that enables them to enhance their skills, adopt their creative entrepreneurial ideas, and support job opportunities. It also provides direct communication platforms with employers, introduces them to the available job fields, their conditions, and the required application procedures at the participating entities from both the public and private sectors seeking to fill their needs with qualified national talents.

 

‏In conclusion, His Excellency expressed his highest thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may Allah preserve them - for the unlimited support and follow-up to advance education to the ranks of progress and development, and to develop the skills and capabilities of the nation's youth, to build generations equipped with high knowledge and skills capable of competing globally with efficiency and competence, in addition to empowering the nation's youth with opportunities and capabilities to prepare effective leaders who will be the foundation of the nation's building and advancement. His Excellency also thanked the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce for their active participation and the participating sponsors and all the companies from the public and private sectors for their significant contribution to achieving the university's goals.

 

‏Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman M. Al-Kharashi, emphasized that the university aspires for Career Week to be one of the sources aimed at providing job opportunities for its graduates and contributing to developing cooperation between the university and various labor sectors. It is also considered one of the distinguished steps the university has taken to showcase job opportunities for graduate students.

 

‏He also indicated that this year's Career Week features various events and activities focusing on employment, training, and qualification, with 40 recruitment entities participating, offering approximately 2,600 job opportunities, in addition to training courses, workshops, and both group and individual consultations.

 

‏At the end of his tour of the exhibition and participating entities, His Excellency awarded medals to the sponsoring companies of the fourth Career Week forum.​
