Under the guidance of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, students from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University recently took part in the fourth edition of the Health Innovation Hackathon program. The event, organized by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, spanned from January 19 to 22, 2024, under the theme "We innovate for the health of the nation."
The primary objective of the hackathon was to harness the potential of young talent, equip both male and female students with innovative skills, and leverage artificial intelligence and technology in the realm of healthcare. By engaging in this initiative, the participants aimed to contribute to the future economy and develop exceptional projects focused on the intersections of health and technology. Ultimately, the goal was to foster a national gathering of universities, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and the generation of innovative solutions to challenges within the healthcare sector.
The hackathon encompassed several components, including the hackathon competition, technical camps, an innovation exhibition, the scientific competition (CASAW), an entrepreneurs' exhibition, and discussion sessions for leaders of innovation centers.
Imam University's involvement in these initiatives aligns with the objectives outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The vision recognizes the pivotal role of Saudi universities in shaping the Saudi identity by cultivating a culture of innovation and creativity among students and providing support for exceptional individuals.
