 Under the Patronage and in the Presence of the University President, IMSIU Celebrates the Graduation of Medical Students – Class of 2026.

​​​     Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri, President of IMSIU, the College of Medicine held, on Saturday evening (April 18, 2026), a graduation ceremony for its male and female students of the Class of 2026. The event took place at the Celebration Hall in King Abdullah City for Female Students.


     The ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders from the health sector, including the Executive Director of Medical Services at the Ministry of Defense, Dr. Khalid I. Al-Abdulkareem; the CEO of Health Holding Company, Mr. Nasser M. Al-Haqbani; the Secretary-General of the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance, Dr. Shabab S. Al-Ghamdi; the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Dr. Jalal M. Al-Owaisi; the CEO of Al-Mana Medical Group, Prof. Awad A. Al-Omari; the CEO of the National Medical Care Company, Dr. Abdulaziz S. Al-Obaid; and the Executive Director of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital, Dr. Abdulaziz S. Bin Shubrain, in addition to faculty members and the families of the graduates.


     The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur'an, and the graduates' procession.


      As part of the program, a segment titled “A Message to the Graduate" was delivered by former Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Khalid A. Al-Abdulrahman. He emphasized that medicine is a humanitarian mission founded on sincerity and service to patients, stressing the importance of continuous learning, professional development, and adherence to ethical and professional standards in an ever-evolving field. He also highlighted that true physicians combine knowledge with compassion and urged graduates to remain appreciative of their teachers.


     A documentary film was then presented, showcasing the College of Medicine's journey, its academic and research achievements, and the qualitative progress in its educational outcomes.


     The graduates expressed their pride and gratitude in a speech, affirming their commitment to serving the nation with dedication and responsibility, and to representing the University honorably in their professional careers. They also acknowledged the role of their professors and families in supporting their educational journey.


     Following this, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Tariq A. Al-Asbali, delivered a speech highlighting the College's academic, scientific, and research excellence. He noted that the College has graduated nearly 2,000 physicians, contributing significantly to the healthcare sector and human capital development in the Kingdom.


     He also pointed out key achievements, including full programmatic accreditation, ranking within the (101–125) band globally among medical schools according to Times Higher Education, and the inclusion of the medicine program in QS rankings. He reaffirmed the College's commitment to advancing research, strengthening partnerships, and continuous development.

 

     At the conclusion of his speech, the graduates took the medical oath, reaffirming their commitment to professional ethics, safeguarding patients' lives, and fulfilling their responsibilities with integrity and dedication.

 

      H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri then delivered a speech congratulating the graduates and emphasizing the vital role of the College of Medicine in preparing qualified national professionals to support and advance the healthcare sector. He stressed the importance of loyalty to the nation and its leadership, lifelong learning, adherence to medical ethics, and recognizing the noble responsibility of the medical profession.

 

     He also highlighted the importance of honoring parents, appreciating their support, and taking pride in belonging to the University, encouraging graduates to serve as distinguished ambassadors in their professional fields.

 

     He concluded by expressing gratitude to the Kingdom's leadership for their continued support of the education and healthcare sectors, and extended thanks to the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef A. Al-Benyan, as well as to the University and College of Medicine staff for their efforts.

 

     On the female students' side, the Vice President for Institutional Development and Community Responsibility, Dr. Khulood F. Al-Tamimi, delivered a speech emphasizing that this achievement reflects the leadership's strong commitment to education and its belief that people are the core of development. She praised the empowerment of national talent and the growing role of Saudi women as a key pillar of the Kingdom's comprehensive development.


     She noted that medicine is not merely a profession, but a noble humanitarian mission grounded in compassion and responsibility. She affirmed the College's dedication to preparing highly qualified female physicians equipped with knowledge, professional competence, and ethical values.


     Addressing the graduates, she described the moment as a milestone following a journey of challenges and achievements, encouraging them to let knowledge be their light, values their path, and compassion their message—serving as role models for their nation and community.


      She concluded by expressing her gratitude to the Minister of Education and the University President for their continuous support, and to the College of Medicine faculty and administrative staff for their efforts in preparing this distinguished group of graduates. She also acknowledged the vital role of families in nurturing and supporting the students' success.


     The ceremony concluded with honoring the graduates in a celebratory atmosphere reflecting the joy of achievement and marking the beginning of a new chapter in which they will contribute to serving the nation and society, enhancing quality of life, and advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
