The Arabic Language Teaching Institute at Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University has made qualitative efforts to serve the Arabic language in more than 140 countries around the world. This is achieved through the programs available at the Institute, including the Language Preparation Program, Diploma Programs, Master's and Doctoral Programs in Applied Linguistics, and its support for the Islamic Library by issuing a series of publications for teaching Arabic. In addition, the Institute is keen to cooperate with other relevant educational bodies that have contributed to the spread of the Arabic language in a number of countries around the world. The Institute has also sent some of its faculty members to a number of the University's institutes abroad, which have offered rich experiences in teaching and learning the Arabic language, a field in which the institute has excelled for over 45 years.

This initiative is a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s commitment, through the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, to spread Islamic and Arabic sciences and their teaching. The institute, through its noble mission, responds to the needs of many Islamic countries in educating international students and equipping them with the necessary skills in the Arabic language. The institute, established in 1984, is one of the units of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. It focuses on linguistically preparing learners to acquire a level of basic skills in Arabic that enables them to use the language effectively, alongside enabling them to enroll in the university's colleges. Through these efforts, the Institute strives to be a leading academic institution in linguistics and a distinguished center of expertise in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

To enhance and excel in the educational process at the Institute, and to achieve high-quality outputs, the Institute is working on developing a linguistic test that accurately and objectively measures language proficiency and skills for non-Arabic speakers wishing to enroll in the programs offered by the IMISU, both within and outside the Kingdom. Additionally, the Institute has been enthusiastic about implementing Arabic language instruction programs designed for a specific purpose, such as medical and military purposes, as well as an economic Arabic instruction program. Additionally, the Institute has contributed to offering courses and workshops by designing specialized and quality training packages for teaching Arabic as a second language to international students.

The institute has made significant efforts in preparing and publishing books, research, and enrichment studies in peer-reviewed academic journals and dissertations, utilizing their results in developing programs for teaching Arabic as a second language and its teaching methods for learners. This includes the peer review of scientific surveys for researchers in this field, discussing dissertations in applied linguistics and its branches. The number of academic research and applied studies prepared exceeds more than 500 papers in both Arabic and English languages.

Among the initiatives of the Institute, which exceed more than 15 quality initiatives, a technical interactive project targeting the remote teaching of the Arabic language was launched, in cooperation with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education. The Institute took charge of preparing a special academic series for the initiative. Through its leading role in disseminating its academic and professional expertise in teaching Arabic, the Institute has significantly contributed to providing consultancy studies for the establishment or support and foundation of some institutes and centers concerned with teaching Arabic, both within and outside the Kingdom. Additionally, an Arabic language teaching channel was launched on YouTube to offer model lessons for language skills. The Institute has also designed a number of computer and technical programs related to the field of Arabic language teaching and made them available to beneficiaries. The Institute strives to build bridges of communication and cooperation with relevant entities, having conducted more than 300 specialized training courses in 80 countries. In recognition of these leading and distinguished efforts, in addition to winning more than 50 awards and honors from a number of local and international organizations.
