 Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University: Excellence and Leadership in 2024

​​​‏Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University achieved remarkable milestones throughout 2024, excelling in scientific, academic, sports, and cultural domains at national and regional levels. These accomplishments reflect the university’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and its pivotal role in nurturing the talents of its male and female students.

Academic and Research Excellence
‏In global and local academic rankings, the university advanced to 3rd place among Saudi universities in the Times Higher Education ranking and secured a spot in the 351–400 bracket internationally. In the QS Arab Region University Rankings, the university ranked 51–60.
‏At the college level, the College of Computer and Information Sciences secured 1st place in the Kingdom in the education axis for computer and information sciences, outperforming the second-place institution by over 12%. Additionally, the College of Medicine earned accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for its contributions to continuous professional development in the health sector.
‏The Deanship of Scientific Research received seven prestigious awards from the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority. The university’s achievements were supported by 8 research centers, 12 scientific societies, 5 institutes, and 14 colleges, securing academic accreditation for 34 programs and a framework agreement for accrediting 68 academic programs.
‏In 2024, university researchers published 3,148 research papers in Web of Science and Scopus-indexed journals. Additionally, the university signed over 48 agreements, including 4 international collaborations, enhancing education, training, professional consultation, and knowledge exchange.
‏Innovation and Entrepreneurship
‏The university demonstrated leadership in innovation by winning first place in the Human Capital Hackathon with the “Mawhiba Engine” project, supervised by the Gifted and Talented Care Unit. It also secured first place in the International Space Applications Challenge Hackathon in Riyadh with the “Green Shift” project, supervised by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
‏Further achievements include third place in the Agriculture Hackathon under the “PalmOptical” team and third place in the Gameathon competition during the Gamers Season.
‏At the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions (49th edition), the university earned multiple accolades:
College of Medicine: Gold medal for the invention “AutiScan”.
College of Engineering: Gold medal for “The Advanced Pen for Measuring Blood Sugar Level”.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center: Bronze medal for “Yaqeen Mattress”.

‏Additionally, the university registered 3 patents and won 37 awards across scientific and cultural fields.
Cultural and Artistic Achievements
‏Regionally, the university excelled in cultural and artistic competitions. It won 1st place in the Fourth Cultural and Scientific Forum for Female Students of Gulf Universities, hosted by Sultan Qaboos University, with participation from 16 Gulf universities.
‏The university also received the Qatar University Award for Excellence among higher education institutions in the GCC and secured top positions in 6 cultural and scientific tracks in the Cultural Olympiad.
Furthermore, the university earned *4th place in the Fifth Annual Forum on Digital Transformation and Integrity.
Operational Excellence and Sustainability
‏Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the university achieved outstanding performance in resource efficiency and sustainability. It revised maintenance schedules, optimized its building control systems, and implemented a risk registry for operational activities.
Notably, the university became the first in Saudi Arabia to implement a large-scale solar panel energy project, reducing electricity consumption and earning recognition from the Spending Efficiency Authority.
Additionally, the university achieved 100% localization of operation and maintenance contracts, completed infrastructure rehabilitation projects, and improved road networks across its campus and King Abdullah City for Female Students.
Social Responsibility and Community Engagement
The university organized 917 social activities and collaborated with healthcare institutions to launch a blood donation initiative, attracting over 1,000 donors.
In recognition of its social contributions, the university won 2nd place for the Ejad Club and 4th place for the Environment Club at the Forbes Middle East Social Responsibility Forum.
The university also prioritized Quranic education, hosting the University President’s Competition for Memorizing and Reciting the Holy Quran, where 12 students were honored for their achievements
Sports Achievements
In 2024, the university excelled in multiple sports competitions:
1st place in the Bowling Championship (university level).
2nd place in Athletics in the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Championship for People with Disabilities.
1st place in Table Tennis, hosted by Al-Baha University.
Bronze medal in Athletics at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
*6th place in Athletics Championship for Female Students with Disabilities.
*3rd place in the Futsal Championship in Jubail.
2nd place in CALL OF DUTY competition in the Saudi Universities Sports Federation
Championships.
Multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Championship for the Disabled.
