 (523) Male and female trainees during the initial week of the second semester at the Skills Development Center

During the first week of the second semester of 2023, the Skills Development Center coordinated three specialized training courses, two of which were designed for the academic staff comprising faculty members and their equivalents at the university. A total of 276 trainees in quality in university education and writing course reports benefited from these programs. The other training session designed for the administrative personnel was attended by 246 individuals in total.


In response to administrative and academic requirements, the courses vary. 145 trainees, who were faculty members from several Colleges of the university, participated in the first training course, titled "Quality in University Education." Disseminating the culture of continuous improvement, innovation in academic programs, and the use of technology in higher education, Dr. Awad Al-Shehri, an associate professor at the College of Languages and Translation, taught the course with the objective of demonstrating the significance of innovation and continuous improvement in higher education. Eyman Bajseirreas of focus of the training course included the following: the notion of quality in higher education, standards of quality in universities, instruments for ensuring quality, the responsibility of university administration in implementing quality, quality assessment and academic accreditation, curriculum development in accordance with quality standards, and the ongoing pursuit of innovation and enhancement in university education.

The second training course (Writing a Course Report) was also presented to a total of 131 faculty member trainees from different colleges of the university. The course was delivered by Dr. Eyman Bajseir, Assistant Professor in the Department of the Holy Quran and its Sciences at the College of Fundamentals of Religion and Da’wah, and the course covered wide range of topics, including the following: the significance and types of course reports, the importance and early preparation of reports,
an understanding of the academic departments' decisions regarding these reports, and the
objectives that these reports aim to achieve.

The third training course designed for the university's administrative staff was titled (Managing Stress in the Workplace). A total of 256 trainees from the administrative staff from various colleges and institutions of the university participated in the training. The course placed significant emphasis on the necessity of employing sophisticated strategies and constructive and efficacious reactions to this form of stress. It encompassed various themes, with the following standing out: the definition and classification of work-related stress, the detrimental effects of stress on health and performance, the identification of primary stress sources, methodologies for stress analysis and prioritization, and approaches to effectively managing stress.

These courses are part of a continuous series of programs and specialized courses offered by the Center, and theyare supported, guided, and interest-based by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Ahmed S. Al-Amri, and with the continuous follow-up of the Vice President for Institutional Development and Community Engagement, Dr.  Abdullah Abdulaziz Alsheddy. Such courses contribute to the development and quality enhancement of the university environment and achieve the objectives of the university and its strategic plan (2021/2025) which are in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
