In celebration of the heritage of traditional arts, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) organized the “National Year of Handicrafts 2025” Exhibition.

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), in cooperation with the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (WRTH) and with the support of the Student Fund, organized the National Year of Handicrafts 2025 Exhibition on Wednesday and Thursday, November 12–13, 2025, at the lobby of the Administrative Building (416) in King Abdullah City for Female Students.

The exhibition was attended by Dr. Khulood F. Al-Tamimi, Vice President for Institutional Development and Community Engagement; Dr. Ohoud O. Al-Manea, Vice Dean of Student Affairs; and Ms. Muznah N. Aba Al-Khail, Head of the General Administration of King Abdullah City for Female Students.

The event featured a variety of activities aimed at showcasing national handicrafts and promoting appreciation for traditional arts. Workshops presented by the WRTH Institute included “Making a Sadu Keychain" and “Embroidery Bookmark Workshop." Six female artisans also participated, demonstrating authentic traditional crafts such as Al-Qatt Al-Asiri, palm weaving, leatherwork, Saudi Sadu weaving, wood carving, and sewing and embroidery.

Additionally, a comprehensive exhibition displayed various Saudi handicrafts, featuring photos and names of traditional crafts, along with a special section dedicated to calligraphy on pottery.

The Deanship of Student Affairs invited students to attend and register for the workshops and encouraged talented participants to take part in the “Best Freehand Drawing of Handicrafts" competition held as part of the event.

This initiative reflects the university's commitment to preserving national heritage, enhancing cultural identity, and strengthening students' connection to authentic artistic traditions through hands-on experiences that foster creativity and pride in Saudi handicrafts.
