The College of Education at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), celebrates World Quality Week

The College of Education at (IMSIU) celebrates today, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the launch of the World Quality Week activities as part of the University continuous efforts to promote a culture of quality and institutional excellence under the slogan “Quality: Think Differently." The event featured several online workshops, training sessions, and accompanying activities.

The Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Ali M. Al-Ghamdi, inaugurated the workshops, expressing his delight at the college's participation in this global event. He emphasized that Quality Week represents an opportunity to enhance a culture of excellence and to strengthen institutional practices that elevate academic and administrative performance, in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals for developing human capabilities.

Prof. Al-Ghamdi noted that, with the University support, the College of Education has made significant progress in developing its academic programs, improving learning environments, and enhancing the efficiency of educational, research, and student services operations. This progress reflects the college's firm commitment to continuous improvement and to building a work environment where quality is both a practice and a culture. He called for continued efforts to promote quality awareness and to strengthen sustainable institutional performance that achieves excellence and leadership for both the college and the University.

Following that, a series of specialized workshops and training programs organized by the College of Education were launched. The program began with a workshop titled “Quality: Together Toward Continuous Improvement and Academic Excellence," presented by Dr. Tahani K.AL-Jubair, Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, with participation from Dr. Abeer S. Al-Shuwaier, Associate Professor of Educational Foundations.

The workshop focused on the importance of integration in quality efforts and the vital role of faculty members in achieving academic excellence. It also highlighted the role of stakeholders—students, faculty members, graduates, and administrative staff—as central elements in the academic quality system. Their active participation in surveys enables institutions to gain deeper insight into their needs and expectations, and their feedback helps guide the development of academic programs and courses, serving as a practical application of the principle of continuous improvement and closing the quality loop.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of responsiveness to academic surveys, as it reflects the maturity of quality awareness within the institution. It explained that low participation rates or delayed responses negatively impact result accuracy and analysis credibility, while fostering this culture requires ongoing awareness efforts and clear communication of how survey feedback contributes to program improvement by informing participants of the results and resulting development decisions.

Additionally, the workshop addressed the importance of sharing experiences and successful practices among colleges and programs, considering this a key element in enhancing academic quality. It stressed that holding regular workshops and meetings between quality units and academic programs, along with systematic documentation of experiences, contributes to building an institutional knowledge base that supports sustainable quality.

The workshop concluded by affirming that a culture of quality is not built by systems alone, but through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of successful experiences. It reiterated that the College of Education and the University are committed to excellence and leadership in academic and institutional education—strengthening their position as a model to be emulated in promoting a culture of quality.
