​On the last Monday, at the headquarters of Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, the high-level supervision committee of the Research Chair of King Abdulaziz for Islamic Studies at Bologna University, Italian Republic, has convened chairing by H.E. Sheikh Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam University and Member of Saudi Senior Ulemas Council, and Prof. Francisco Ubertini, Director of University of Bologna.

In coincidence with the meeting, H.E. the University Rector has welcomed the high-level delegation members from University of Bologna. He, additionally, has commended the gathering and expressed about his ambitions for the research chair to bring success to its goals for three reasons. As per his terms, they are namely, the research chair is bearing the name of the founder of Saudi Arabian Kingdom, and focusing on the topics of the Islamic studies and spreading the values of tolerance and justice and introducing Islam to a vast majority of Muslims in the west. He continued that, lastly it is supervising by two prominent and long-standing academical institutions.

In a similar vein, H.E. the University Rector has acknowledged and praised the staunch efforts and contributions of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and H.R.H. Crown Prince Muhammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, and H.R.H. Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince, whom are often supporting and backing the university and its programs. He, as well, has valued the contributions and exerting efforts of all members of the academic committee of the research chair, and the dignitaries of the university Research Chair Program. Additionally, Dr. Aba Al-Khail has thanked the Saudi Cultural Attaché at Rome, Italy Republic.

From his side, Prof. Francesco Ubertini of Italian University of Bologna has expressed about his thankful to Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, for hosting the meeting and supporting each and every particulars of the research chair. He reaffirmed the importance of the research chair as a focal point between the academical and cultural links between Europe and the Islamic world. 

It should be noted that, King Abdulaziz Research Chair, which is an extension to King Abdulaziz’ s Centre which was established by the university with the support of H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, May Allah Almighty Rest Him in Peace, is officially be linked to Al-Imam University. It focus mainly on the scientific and research concerns about a number of topics that serve the Arab and Islamic Studies such as Islamic law, human rights in Islam and scientific-Islamic monuments in Italy. As well as the spread of the Arabic language and methods of teaching it in Italy beside the relation between both languages Arabic and Italian, their affect and effect.
