Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, representing by its College of Arabic Language, has commemorating lastly a celebration with the presence of Dr. Fawzan bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, the World Arabic Language Day.
The event, which adopted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the last 2010, is observing annually on December 18.
The celebration's agenda was included words by Dr. Al-Fawzan, where he voiced his happiness over the celebration. He, as well, thanked Allah Almighty for the blessings that giving to Saudi people, including opening knowledge horizons and serving Islamic and the homeland. "Arabic language is a part of the great responsibility of defending the Islamic and Arabic identity", added he.
Moreover, Al-Imam University Acting Rector has asserted the efforts and contributions exerted by Al-Imam University to Arabic language, which including holding a number of symposiums and conferences and workshops, and graduated some of the finest scholars and specialists in Arabic language sciences, and hosted many associations and centres that serving Arabic language.
From his side, Dr. Ahmad Al-Adiab, Dean of College of Arabic Language, has confirmed that, the organized celebration is a portion of a series of academic and cultural programs, that prepared by his administration to mark the World Arabic Language Day.
In a similar vein, Dr. Al-Adiab announced that, his administration has inked a MoU with Saudi Association for Arabic Language, and a Cooperation Agreement with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Serving Arabic Language.
It is worth to mention that, the celebration agenda was consisted a number of programs, including a documentary video about Arabic Language Day, a brief about both "Eternity Language Competition" and "Arabic Language: Identity and Citizenship Competition".
