Dr. Fawzan bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, has strongly condemned the cowardly suicide bombing that targeted lastly a mosque at the headquarters of the special emergency forces in Asir, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of the forces and workers at the site when they were safely performing the noon prayer.
In statement issued by Dr. Al-Fawzan, he described the bombing as a heinous crime that is contrary to values and principles of Islam and humanity as a whole. H.E. the university acting rector has delineated them as a deviated group that aiming at destabilizing Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and terrorizing Saudi innocent people. “Violation of the sanctity of life and targeting a house of worship are criminal acts that can only be done by people devoid of any religious, ethical or human values”, added he.
Al-Imam University Acting Rector has expressed his sincere condolences to and solidarity with the families of the victims and prayed to Allah to grant the injured quick recovery. He, additionally, expressed his confidence in the unity of the Saudi people and their support for their leadership in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and that the Saudi authorities would quickly identify those who planned and executed this crime.
Concluding his words, Dr. Al-Fawzan has reiterated the support and backing of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for the leaders and rulers of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures, they could taking, to preserve the security and stability of the whole country, and to ensure the safety of Saudi people.
