H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, has inaugurated lastly a forum organized by UNESCO Research Chair for Interfaith Dialogue, attributed to Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Research Chair Program, in tandem with King Abdulaziz Centre for National Dialogue and Saudi Broadcasting Corporation and Saudi Journalist Authority entitled “Role of Media in Disseminating King Abdullah Initiative for Interfaith Dialogue”.
Opening the forum, Dr. Abdullah Al-Refai, Dean of College of Media and Communication, and who doubles as Principal of UNESCO Research Chair, has stated that, the forum is one of the activities of UNESCO Research Chair for Interfaith Dialogue that put forth to King’s initiative. The forum is a completion to several of activities of media and its role in enhancing King Abdullah initiative.
Following that, Mr. Faisal Moammar has delivered a speech on behalf of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Centre for National Dialogue. He stated pointed out that, King’s initiative has launched from Saudi Arabia and all religious, educational, cultural and media institutions are welcomed to participate and stimulus its words, especially Saudi Arabia is a target of attacks intending its fundamentals.
From his side, Mr. Majeri Al-Qahtani, Vice-President of Saudi Broadcasting Corporation has clarified that, media has contributed largely to King’s initiative through strengthen its words and values.
Addressing the forum, H.E. the university rector has point that, the forum is comes in a critical time needing by all to enhance and strengthen the academical researches with King’s initiative. “King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has called for interfaith dialogue between all followers of religious and cultures and it does not cross-out fundamentals of Islam. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, thus, is a man of the brink and he actually presents Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the entire world through its righteous mission and balanced approach”, added he.
At the end of the forum, Dr. Aba Al-Khail has presented souvenirs to all dignitaries.
