 Rector Attends Meeting of Arabic-Islamic Science Institute

H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, participated recently at the 35th annual meeting of the trusteeship council of Institute of the History of Arabic-Islamic Science, a gathering that held at Frankfort, Federal Republic of Germany. 

The meeting of Arabic-Islamic Science Institute council had discussed deeply the various reports about the activities and participations of the institute in disseminating Islamic legacy and manuscripts. Dr. Aba Al-Khail has largely lauded the extraordinary efforts performing by the institute and it all officials in introducing and publishing the Muslims' knowledge heritage.

In a similar vein, H.E. the university Rector has commended in particular the contributions of Prof. Fuat Sezgin, Director of IHAIS, in administering the institute. Additionally, for his praised cooperation with Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in re-inventing the wheels of Arabic and Islamic heritage and civilization through its proposed Arabic-Islamic Science museum, a project that currently undergo in tandem with the Arabic-Islamic Science Institute.

It is worth to mention that, IHAIS is a specialized research institute focusing on history of Arabic-Islamic sciences, which is administering by Prof. Fuat Sezgin, Turkish Orientalist, who received several awards, including King Faisal International Prize of Islamic Studies in 1978. Prof. Sezgin is, also, the author and editor of numerous publications. IHAIS has a trusteeship council, which convening annually to follow-up its periodical reports and projects, and Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University is a member in the council since it has founded.
