 Acting Rector Praises King’s Approval for Cybercrimes Conference

​Dr. Fawzan bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, has appreciated, in statements lastly, the royal approval of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to the organising of the “1st Conference on Combating Cybercrimes” by Al-Imam University, in tandem with College of Computer Sciences and Information, during the next November.

In worth with the conference, Dr. Al-Fawzan has stated that, its significance came from the emerging dangerous in the community, as well as the notable vastness that witnessing by the world in the use of IT in the community and its growing role in the running of its affairs. Cybercrimes embedding several disciplines including law, judiciary, computer science, finance, telecommunications, and data analysis.

A number of interesting persons and entities from inside and outside Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have invited to attend the gathering, added Dr. Al-Fawzan. “The conference will be focusing on the need for awareness about the seriousness of cybercrimes on the security of the community, in addition to review the sanctions of cybercrimes provided by the regulations. It, also, provides modern studies and solutions to contribute in the combating of such crime, as well as negotiates a variety of contemporary views about the overall related issues”, clarified he.

From his side, Dr. Isa Al-Isa, Dean of College of Computer Sciences and Information, pointed out that, the conference aims to raise the level of combating Cybercrimes by using the latest technology and means, and take advantages of regional and global experiences in this area. Objectives of the conference include introducing Cybercrimes and its types and legalised penalties, and awareness of the procedures and mechanisms for combating Cybercrimes, and increase the sense of IT security at members of the community. Additionally, to seize partnership and cooperation opportunities both internally and externally in the field of combating Cybercrimes, and communicate with the security agencies and enhance their role in maintaining IT security of the community, and explore the development prospects of the means of combating cybercrimes and informatics Criminal Evidence.  

Dr. Al-Isa, concluding his words, hoped the conference would receive an energetic participation by all IT interesting persons and specialists.
