 Al-Imam University UNESCO Research Chair Holds Enriched PD

On the last Monday, UNESCO Research Chair for Community Media, attributed to Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Research Chair Program, has organized successfully a panel of discussion entitled “Reality of Communal Cases in Saudi TV”, in presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Refai, Dean of College of Media and Communication.

In significance with the PD, a number of themes has discussed carefully by the participants. Dr. Muhammad Al-Subaihi, Associate Professor at TV and Radio Dept and Vice-Dean of Medial College for Development and Quality, has discussed the dialectical relation between social programs and community programs at TV. He clarified that, community consists of a number of people located in one geographic area, while media is a kind of the mass communication where people communicating through it.

Dr. Muhammad Faqih, Associate Professor at TV and Radio Dept, has discussed the theoretical approaches of the social role of TV, while Dr. Khaled Al-Fram, Assistant Professor and Head of Graphics Dept at Media College, has shed lights on the community cases in Saudi TV.

The panel discussion has attended by many interested persons, whom enriched the panel boldly.​
