 Dr. Mohssen of Al-Imam Computer College Wins IEEE Award

Dr. Mohssen Mohammad Zayn

Lastly, Dr. Mohssen Mohammad Zayn Al-Abideen, Faculty member in College of Computer and Information, Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, won a special award from Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers "IEEE", NY, United States of America, for his book "Automatic Defense against Zero-day Polymorphic Worms in Communication Networks".

The won-book, which is considering one among tenth best books in IT network security, details a new approach for generating automated signatures for unknown polymorphic worms. It presents experimental results on a new method for polymorphic worm detection and examines experimental implementation of signature-generation algorithms and double-honeynet systems.

It is worth mentioning that, Dr. Mohssen published several papers at top international conferences such as GLOBECOM and MILCOM. He has also served as a Technical Program Committee member in numerous international conferences. Finally, his research interest includes Network Security, especially Intrusion detection and prevention systems, Honeypots, Firewalls, and Malware Detection Methods.
