Imam University Council, headed by H.E. Professor Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University, was agreed unanimously in its fourth regular meeting on the establishment of a research chair of the General Presidency for the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque for Studies and Researches of Two Holy Mosques. The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad As-Saleh, Secretary -General of Higher Education Council, and a number of vice-rectors and deans.

Dr. Fawzan Al-Fawzan, Vice-rector for Community Service and Information Technology and whose doubles as Secretary-General of the University Council, pointed out that, has agreed and adopted a number of internal decisions regulating the workflow processes inside the university.  

In significance with the academical affairs, Dr. Al-Fawzan stated that, the council approved the re-enrollment of two postgraduate students; and the nomination of Dr. Saleh Al-Shawerikh for the scientific council membership representing Institute of Arabic Language, and on the nomination of Dr. Abdul-Karim Ismail for the scientific council membership representing College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at El-Ahsa, and the nomination of Dr. Ali Al-Mahmoud for the membership of the Higher Studies Council, and the nomination of Dr. Abdullah Al-Lehidan for the membership of the Supreme Institute for Dawah and Ihtsab Council, and the nomination of Dr. Yasser Al-Sherif for the membership of College of Medicine Council. Furthermore, the council agreed to the appointment of members of King Abdullah Institute for Translation and Arabization; and approved the join of vice-deans of the Deanship of Preparatory Programs to its assigned council.

In furtherance with the council decisions, Dr. Al-Fawzan stated that, the council granted a   sabbatical leave for Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Harby, and re-deputized three faculty members to work outside the university, and recruiting two new faculty staff members and relocate Dr. Muhammad Al-Sebhinin to work outside the university, and firing two faculty staff members and a demonstrator, and accepting the resignation of one faculty members and demonstrator.

Concluding his words, Dr. Al-Fawzan said that, the council has reviewed what has been accomplished in respect of "Afaq" Plan and gave a legalized evaluation  to four internal regulations including regulations of qualifying curricula and its procedures; booklet of university student rights and its procedures, and regulation of students' discipline, rules of complaints and its procedures. Finally, ​​​Imam University council has accepted the donation of sons of Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Abdan of his personal library.
