Ahead of all its counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Deanship of Information Technology has been formally awarded ISO/IEC 27001 Certification, a certification awarded to institutions whose business processes meet the international information security standards.
The accomplishment is the outcome of frenzied efforts made by the deanship to implement, develop, audit and control standards of information security on a huge number of processes, systems and networks for the benefit of all the university's beneficiaries and users.
In statements on the announcement, H.E. Dr. Waleed Al-Jandal, Acting Dean of Information Technology Deanship, said that he was delighted to see this trailblazing award been giving to its deanship, which mirrors the adherence to all standards and specifications of information security. "Information security system requires implementing a number of processes continuously which will raise the confidence placed upon the deanship as well as considering as a critical competitive point for his administration", added he.
He praised H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, for his relentless support, describing him as the driving force behind the university's continued successes.
Dr. Al-Jandal, likewise, thanked Dr. Fawzan Al-Fawzan, Vice-Rector for Information Technology and Community Service, and all dignitaries of Imam University for their staunch support and encouragement.
From his part, Dr. Riyadh Al-Makki, Vice-Dean of IT Deanship for Development and Quality, clarified that, the certification deems one of the sterling international standards in information security and its benefits include implementing an integrated information security system depends on endless operations and protections of the university informatics assets.
