Inaugurating the meeting, Prof. Dr. Fahd Al-Askr, Vice-Rector for Higher Studies and Academic Research and who doubles as Vice-President of Research Chairs Program, by stating that, the meeting comes with an aim to highlight the roles of research chairs in serving the university as well as the community. "This meeting comes after five years of the inauguration of the research chairs program at Imam University to improve the image of the program in its way to strengthen the communal partnership of the university and to assess its experience in light of the challenges it facing", added Dr. Al-Askr.

Following his words, Dr. Al-Askr made a presentation of three sections, the first on provided a background about the research chairs program, the second one provided what distinguishes the program and the last one focused on the quantitative indicators of the program performance during the last five years.

In furtherance, Dr. Al-Askr noted that, the meeting additionally contains holding specialized workshops with the related colleges and to introduce opportunities that offered by the program to faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students. An exhibition includes achievements of the program and different aspects of the program will be hold as well, stated he.

Concluding his word, Dr. Al-Askr thanked the financers of the research chairs for their confidence they placed upon the university, and, additionally, he praised H.E. the university rector for supporting the program. 

Speaking on behalf of the financers of the research chairs, Mr. Khaled Al-Muqil stated that, Imam University has working on exquisite basics in the field of academic research and that makes it opening new horizons and receiving the confidence of all interested persons in this field. He extended his thanks the university in respect of its efforts to stimulus the communal participation between the institutions of higher education and business sector. He, at last, declared that, sons of Sheikh Fahd Al-Muqil are currently preparing to finance a new research chair at Imam University on the studies of orphans.

Addressed the meeting, H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, pointed out that, the research chair program is a patriotically one that achieves its goals, and it is one of the key achievements of the university, which often seeks to serve the religion and the homeland as well as realizing the aspirations of the wised rulers. 

"What have been noticed in this university, including services for community is thanks to Allah Almighty firstly and to the due care received by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his Crown Prince H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Deputy Crown Prince H.R.H. Prince Muqrin bun Abdulaziz", added he.

H.E. the university rector thanked sons of Sheikh Fahd Al-Muqil for their endless backing and support to the university research chairs program. He declared that, one of the loyal financers has promised to finance a research chair entitled "Studies of Terrorist Groups and Party Organizations, and Promotion of Moderation Values", an effort that comes in line with the directives of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and statements of the Ministry of Interior to criminalize such groups. 

Concluding his speech, H.E. the university rector has thanked all financers of the research chairs program as well as the officials and administrators of the program. At the end of the meeting, H.E. the university rector has kicked off the accompanied exhibition and made a tour inside it with the financers of the research chairs.
