​The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University organized a field activity trip for the Field Study course students during the period from January 14 to 25, 2025. This activity involved a visit to the city of Buraydah in the Qassim region to study the phenomenon of desertification.

The scientific program of the trip included specialized lectures and field workshops focusing on environmental challenges associated with desertification. It also featured practical training on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) devices.
