Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) Celebrated ISO Certification Achievement

Affirming its commitment to global quality standards, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) celebrated the achievement of ISO certification by twenty of its departments. Under the patronage of the President of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri, and represented by the Deanship of Quality and Development under the Vice Presidency for Institutional Development and Community Engagement, the University held a ceremony on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, to celebrate the achievement of ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification by twenty of its departments.— reaffirming its commitment to global quality standards and sustainable institutional excellence.

This celebration comes as part of the University's ongoing efforts to achieve its educational quality goals and to align with its strategic plan.

The ISO certification project was launched to qualify and award twenty university departments the ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, reflecting the University's commitment to institutional excellence and performance quality, while enhancing its credibility and reputation both nationally and internationally. The Deanship of Quality and Development developed a comprehensive five-phase work plan, beginning with a gap analysis and an assessment of the current state of all departments to identify areas for improvement. The Deanship then conducted extensive training to build staff capacity and to strengthen the culture of quality across the university.

Through its ambitious plan, the Deanship documented the necessary procedures, serving as the institutional memory of operations and ensuring their continuity. Subsequently, internal audit teams were empowered to conduct comprehensive reviews of

procedures and assess readiness, paving the way for the external audit phase — the project's concluding stage.

As part of this project, the Deanship conducted over 700 hours of training programs to qualify the participating teams, enabling 158 employees (male and female) to obtain internal auditor certification within the auditing programs.

Additionally, the Deanship provided more than 960 consulting hours in support of system implementation, carried out through 240 field visits during the documentation phase of the system.

During the ISO certification project, the Deanship carried out 60 hours of internal auditing and another 60 hours of external auditing in line with accreditation requirements. Moreover, it developed more than 679 operational procedures, approved over 1,153 official documents, and prepared more than 652 procedural forms, with the participation of over 158 male and female employees, including leaders and staff members from various university departments.
