 In support of the Saudi Astronomy Team participating in the International Olympiad for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Brazil, Mawhiba students visit the Museum for Science and Technology History in Islam and the Planetarium at Imam University.

A delegation of students from the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, "Mawhiba,” visited the Museum for Science and Technology History in Islam at Imam University. This visit comes in support of the Saudi astronomy team participating in the International Olympiad for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Brazil and in an effort by Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University to serve the community based on Islamic teachings and values, nurturing knowledge and creativity, developing university culture, and achieving excellence in Islamic and Arabic studies.
The visit also comes within the framework of enriching knowledge and information for the guests and, as an extension of expanding their cultural awareness, introducing them to the exhibits and holdings of the Museum for Science and Technology History in Islam, which reflect the contributions of the early Arabs and Muslims to the natural and applied sciences, and learning about the achievements that our Islamic civilization has achieved throughout its prosperous eras in various fields. Theoretical and applied studies will serve as role models for future generations, in addition to enhancing interest in the history of science among Muslims and highlighting their contributions to building human civilization.
The visit began with the showing of an introductory film about the exhibition, which contains many models and drawings that simulate some of the inventions of our Muslim scientists in various fields of science. Then the visiting delegation toured the museum’s exhibits and collectibles, during which they viewed many models and drawings that simulate some of the inventions of our Muslim scientists in the fields of technology between the third and tenth centuries AH. After that, visitors went to the planetarium and watched an interactive visual presentation about the astronomical collection.
