 Medicine Faculty Arranges Stem Cells Donation Campaign

​Faculty of Medicine of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, in collaboration with Saudi Register of Stem Cells “SRSC” at National Guard Hospital, will arrange awareness campaign about the donation of stem cells  inside the university campus during 17 to 19 April 2016, clarifies Dr. Khaled Al-Qumaizi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Officer-in-charge of Medical Services, in statements.

Shedding lights on the campaign, Dr. Al-Qumaizi stated that, the stem cells collecting are used in the treatment of blood cancer of children patients. Collected matching samples of donors are done through screening blood sugar percentage and then SRSC will match them with blood cancer patients to be used if compatible, added he.

Clinched his words, Dr. Al-Qumaizi has pointed out that, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has always pioneering in serving community throughout the contributions of his administration, as well as other counterparts.
