Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University will organize on the next March a conference of “Social Media Tools: Applications and Methodological Challenges”, announces Dr. Fawzan bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, in statements recently.
Shedding lights on the conference goals, Dr. Al-Fawzan clarified that, it aims mainly to identify the usages of social media tools and the new media in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to specify the legal and sharia dimensions of the uses of social media tools, to discuss the cultural, social, economical, political and security impacts of social media tools, and to ascertain the new directions of studies and applications of social media tools.
From other side, Prof. Dr. Fahd Al-Asker, Al-Imam University Vice-Rector for Higher Studies and Academic Research, has chaired lastly at his office a meeting of the organizing committee of the conference. He urged, in statements, all members of the committee to do their utmost to realize the aspirations of the wised rulers and the goals of intended conference.
He, additionally, pointed out that, the conference’s themes includes, among others, the current situation of social media tools and its uses in the Arab communities in general and in the Saudi community in particular, the relationship between the traditional media and tools of social media and the mutual influences between them, the legal and sharia dimensions of the uses of social media tools.
