With the participation of the spokespersons for the Saudi Presidency of State Security and the General Directorate of Investigation (GDI) IMSIU organizes a lecture titled “Intellectual Immunity and Building National Awareness”

Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), in collaboration with the Saudi Presidency of State Security, organized today, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, a lecture titled “Intellectual Immunity and Building National Awareness in Confronting Contemporary Challenges." The event targeted undergraduate students, recent graduates, and expected graduates.

The lecture aimed to enhance intellectual awareness and strengthen protection against hostile attempts targeting young people, especially through digital platforms.

It was delivered by the spokespersons for the Saudi Presidency of State Security, Colonel Turki M. Al-Harbi, and the General Directorate of Investigation (GDI), Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Muhannad S. Al-Tayyar.

H.E. the University President affirmed the University's support for initiatives that contribute to building an aware generation with a strong national identity, noting that cooperation with security agencies comes as part of the University's national responsibility to safeguard students' awareness.

The Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah A. Al-Asmari, emphasized that promoting national awareness is a key pillar of the University's educational mission. He added that addressing ideological targeting requires collaboration between the education and national security sectors to protect students during their university years, which are among the most critical stages of youth development. Dr. Al-Asmari further noted that IMSIU students represent part of the nation's true wealth, and that preparing them with knowledge and skills alone is insufficient without intellectual safeguarding—a shared responsibility among all national institutions.

During the lecture, Colonel Al-Harbi discussed the main theories and cultural frameworks directed against the Kingdom, warning against modern philosophies that prioritize individualism over national belonging. He highlighted their impact on thought and behavior and presented ways to counter them through awareness and adherence to official sources

Lieutenant Colonel Al-Tayyar, in turn, presented documented cases of terrorist operations targeting the Kingdom, explaining the methods extremist groups use to influence youth. He also showcased images of heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of their nation, affirming that the Kingdom—under its leadership and security agencies—faces all threats with vigilance and professionalism, and that a well-informed citizen represents the first line of defense.

At the conclusion of the lecture, H.E. the University President honored the guest speakers in appreciation of their participation, expressing the University's gratitude to H.E. the President of State Security and H.E. the Director of the General Directorate of Investigation. He further emphasized that such partnerships form a fundamental pillar in promoting the national awareness that the University strives to instill.
