 Defending Prophet Conference won't be traditional, Dr. Aba Al-Khail

​​​​​Organizing the conference of "Dialogue and Its Role in Defending Prophet Mohammad - peace be upon him" is a target of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University helping in accomplishing its vision and serving Islam and the homeland, says H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of ​Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and who doubles as the Chairman of the Higher Committee of the conference, in a meeting of the preparatory committee of the conference.

In the meeting agenda, H.E. the university rector urged all members of the committee to keep away from the traditional procedures and arrangements of the conference so as to highlight the calling of Prophet Muhammad – Peace Be Upon Him – for interfaith dialogue among different religions and civilizations. "The conference –in particular – and the university – in general – always receiving due care from H.M. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, and his Crown Prince H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Deputy Premier H.R.H. Prince Meqren bin Abdulaziz.

"The conference focuses its vision, objectives and themes on rooting the concept of dialogue, its ethics, elements and methods; and using it to introduce Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and defend him as a great figure in addition to presenting writings, opinions and affirmations on the Prophet of Mercy that are fair, equitable and based on scientific research", noted H.E. the university rector.

From his side, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Mohsen As-Sameah, Dean of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Center for Contemporary Islamic Studies and Dialogue of Civilizations and Vice-President of the Preparatory Committee, clarified that, a number of arrangements relating the conference have already finished including the pamphlets handling in both Arabic and English languages and the official web platform of the conference.

Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mayman, Vice-rector for Sharia Institutes Affairs and head of the conference scientific committee, stated that 171 abstracts were received by the committee, 155 were approved to be focused on during the conference.

It's worth mentioning that, the conference will deliberate on five topics: importance of dialogue in Islam, Kingdom's efforts in the national dialogue and dialogue between civilizations and religions, prospects of successful dialogue, the impact of defense of the Prophet (PBUH), and efforts of Muslim scholars on supporting the dialogue to defend the Prophet (PBUH).
