 Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Delegation Visits British Universities to Foster Advanced Technology Collaboration

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - A delegation from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, as part of a larger group representing Saudi universities, recently embarked on a visit to various British universities from February 19 to 23, 2024. The primary objective of this visit was to strengthen international collaboration in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data, and health information.

Led by Dr. Muhammad bin Naji Al-Yamani, Director General of International Cooperation and Communication, and Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Barrak, Vice Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, the delegation engaged with twenty leading British universities that specialize in the targeted fields. Over the course of five days, the delegation participated in panel discussions with esteemed academics and industry experts from the UK, toured research laboratories, innovation centers, and startup companies, and conducted workshops, joint research presentations, and social gatherings to promote communication and knowledge exchange between Saudi and British educational institutions.

The visit encompassed diverse regions throughout the United Kingdom, including Scotland, northeastern England, and Wales. This strategic decision allowed the delegation to explore areas renowned for their academic excellence and industrial innovation.​

By fostering collaboration and gaining insights into the latest technological advancements, this visit aims to establish fruitful ties between Saudi higher education institutions and their British counterparts. Such partnerships will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of cutting-edge technologies in both nations.
