 Al-Imam University Denies Gas Leak Accident

​In statement released recently by Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University concerning the leakage of gas accident, that is occurred today at the Faculty of Medicine and been treated by the teams of Al-Riyadh Civil Defense Administration, it has fully denied the accident and it reaffirmed its keenness to provide safety and security for all its students and staff.

In furtherance with the statement, Al-Imam University has clearly pointed out that, “It would like to clarify to all people, especially to those circulating the negative and frustrated news in the social media platforms, the accident was not a gas leak by its natural. It was, indeed, an exposure of some medical students to formaldehyde, which is extensively used for preservation of cadavers in departments of anatomy, at the gross anatomy dissection laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine. As a result of the exposure, the management of the faculty has called the Team of Civil Defense at the university to assure the safety and security of all participant medical students. The well-professional civil defense team has taken each and every safety procedure to make sure no other excruciating symptom of formaldehyde has been existed”.

Concluding its statement, Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has revealed that, as a consequence of the accident, two students were slightly affected by the symptoms of unpleasant smell and respiratory distress. They have the required health treatments at the location.
