 Dr. Al-Jandal Shares Success at Saudi S-Government Summit

​Dr. Waleed Abdulaziz Al-Jandal, Dean of Deanship of Information Technology of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, has participated successfully on the recent days at 7th Kingdom Smart Government Summit, a gathering organized by Yesser (the e-Government Program) for government decision makers to discuss the future of smart Government and the latest solutions and services in Saudi Arabia.

In significance with the discussion panel participated by Dr. Al-Jandal, which has focused on the different aspects of the smart government such as education, public sectors and banks, he has stated that, offering online services is a key ingredient for the smart government. He, in furtherance, pointed out that, smart government in the field of education demands information and logistic services for both student and faculty staff member in an intelligent way.

In a similar vein, Dr. Al-Jandal has spoken about smart Apps used within the university, and has revealed that, Al-Imam University often uses Apps that help students, as well as administration and academic staff, to avail the potentials of the university and its facilities. “A two-year vision future plan has been crafted to reach smartly to the highest level of online services and academic deliverables. There’s also a four-year long plan, and it considers largely the new IT solutions and architectures”, added Dr. Al-Jandal.

It is worth to mention that, the 7th Kingdom Smart Government Summit has took place at Al-Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh under the patronage of Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in tandem with Yesser.
