On the next April-2015, Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, in tandem with its College of Computer and Information, will organize the first-ever conference on combating informatics crimes, an official from the college recently said.
The gathering comes in line of the university’s responsibility in this aspect, and its quest to achieve the necessary balance between community's interest in the use of modern technology and maintaining the information security and the protection of the public interest and the national economy. It aims, mainly, to educate the community of the dangers of IT crimes, and ways to control and prevent them.
A number of specialists and stakeholders from within and outside Saudi Arabian Kingdom will be inviting to participate in the conference. An exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the conference to display the latest technologies and software used in the field of combating IT crimes.
The conference will discuss several topics including: legislations, laws, conventions and the penalties related to IT crimes; cybercrimes and digital criminal evidences; and reviewing of the best practices in securing and the safety of electronic transactions; and the business of corporations and institutions devoted to protect the information technology infrastructure ; beside highlighting experiences of the participating countries in this field
