​​On the last days, Dr. Fawzan bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and President the Executive Council of the Federation of Universities of Islamic World (FUIW), have inaugurated the 20th regular meeting of the executive council of FUIW at the rounding hall of the university conferences Bldg.

Starting the meeting, Dr. Al-Fawzan has welcomed the delegates of the FUIW member universities and expressed about his proud to host such a unique meeting at Al-Imam University premises.

Speaking to the delegates, Dr. Al-Fawzan acknowledged the bold support steps taken by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince H.R.H. Prince Muhammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz and Deputy Crown H.R.H. Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to improve Al-Imam University whether in research, academic or studies. In furtherance, he congratulated H.E. Dr. Ahmad Al-Issa, Saudi Education Minister, for his appointment and Dr. Abdulaziz Othman At-Twajri, Secretary General of the FUIW, for his unanimously selection as Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) for two consecutive periods.

From his part, Dr. Abdulaziz Othman At-Twajri, Secretary General of the FUIW and Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO),has stated that, the current session of FUIW Executive Council will discuss the action plan for the two next years, as well as helping in achieving the goals enshrined in the treaty of the FUIW.

On the agenda of the meeting, delegates were deeply discussed the mission and progress of the Islamic Virtual University (IVU), Project of Higher Education and Academic Research Ethics Centre of Prince Naif Arab university, and Centre of Strategic Planning Experts Network of FUIW at Al-Imam University, and Islamic Commission for Academic Accreditation at International Islamic University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Additionally, considerations will be direct on the report of the general secretary of the federation on the activities of the previous session; and the financial report of the federation.

It is worth to mention that, the current 20th session of FUIW attending by a number of state parties including Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Al- Balqa' Applied University, United Arab Emirates University, Universitas Islam Indonesia, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology of Pakistan, University of Bahrain. Kordofan University of Sudan, University of Iraq, Malaya University of Malaysia, Tajikistan International University, Bayero University Kano of Nigeria, National University of Yemen, Kisauni Islamic University of Kenya, and Al-Quds University of Palestine.
