In an aim to strengthen the creativity and innovation trends for building new IT programs and applications, College of Computer Sciences and Information of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has arranged recently a public programming contest for all female and male students of the university.
In significance with the contest, which provides a platform for academia to encourage and focus student public attention on the next generation of computing professionals as they pursue excellence, has intended to sharpen and demonstrate students problem-solving, programming, and teamwork skills. The contestants have organized into teams, in conjunction with the rules and policies of ACM-ICPC Contest, five ones from male students and sixteen ones from female students.
In a similar vein, a three-day preparation stage was arranged prior to the contest, where the first day was intended to introduce contestants with the policies and terms of the contest. The second day was directed to illustrate the solving instructions and training on the PC2 Programming Contest Control System, while the third day was destined to the practical training on contest's questions.
It is noteworthy that, the winners of the contest, a male student team and a female student team, have honoured at the end of the contest day by Dr. Waleed Al-Rodhan, Dean of Computer Sciences College, and all vice-deans and heads of the college's sections.
